ADVANCED PERFORMANCE DRIVING PROGRAM
TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL
If you want to take your driving ability
to the next level, the Advanced Performance Driving (APD) program is the
answer.
There is a great deal more to the high
performance driving experience than getting to a race track and going
fast. You need to learn why your car does the things it does, some good…
some not so good. We were all taught that Vipers do not brake and turn well
simultaneously. This class goes into more detail about how to handle these
amazing automobiles than you ever thought you could learn in a few days.
The APD program offered by The Performance Driving School is a very intense
program, with both classroom (8-9 hours on Thursday) and in-car instruction
on Friday; Saturday and Sunday will be individual practice with selective in
car instruction. Sunday afternoon is the verbal, and driving final exams and
the crew chief debrief session. Make sure both you and your car are ready
for the experience of a lifetime as the APD will take you both to the limit.
I would highly recommend this program to
any one who is interested in getting the most out of their high performance
vehicle. Make an investment in your knowledge and driving skills to take
you to the next level.

(1) CLASSROOM
Ten hours of
lecture designed to enable a driver to fully understand track analysis and
suspension dynamics in
applying
appropriate
driving techniques to maximize the car’s performance; to assess car
handling on-track to determine appropriate adjustments to tires, suspension
components and driving techniques for optimum performance; and to integrate
a broad spectrum of knowledge in the areas of car preparation and setup,
track protocol, practice techniques, safety, and nutrition to maximize
overall high performance driving proficiency.
(2) ON-TRACK
INSTRUCTION
A minimum of
four hours, on-track, with an instructor, to apply the concepts and to
practice the techniques taught in class.

acceleration, throttle steering (on and off the throttle), controlled
braking, late-braking with turn-in, trail braking, turn-in with no braking,

information needed to make suspension and/or other changes, as needed.
Demonstration of knowledge about the driver’s car setup and behavior on
track at varying locations and in specific instances is required.
(5) ORAL QUIZ
The questions
in the oral quiz are derived from all areas covered in the classroom
session, and immediate and accurate responses are required.
DRIVER NEEDS TO
ATTEND THE CLASSROOM SESSION, PARTICIPATE IN THE ON-TRACK INSTRUCTION, AND
